The process of edible oil solvent extraction plant is a complex and delicate process, aiming at extracting edible oil from raw materials efficiently. The following is the general process flow:

First of all, the preparation of raw materials is one of the key steps. Common raw materials include soybeans, peanuts and rapeseed. Next is crushing and embryo pressing. At this stage, the cleaned raw materials are broken into small particles to increase their surface area. The embryo pressing process is to press the crushed particles into thin slices to prepare for solvent extraction. Extraction is the core step of the whole process. Factories usually use No.6 solvent oil (n-hexane) as extractant to separate oil from raw materials. In the extraction tower, the solvent fully contacts with the raw materials after embryo pressing, and the oil is dissolved. At this time, the mixture of solvent and grease is called “mixed oil”.

After that, the mixed oil is evaporated and desolventized. In the evaporation process, the solvent is separated from the oil by heating, and the recovered solvent can be recycled. Desolution is to further remove the residual solvent to ensure the safety and purity of the final product.

At last, the obtained crude oil needs to be refined. The refining process includes degumming, deacidification, decoloration and deodorization to remove impurities and unnecessary components in the oil and improve the quality and stability of the oil.
