Types of palm oil refining production lines

Palm oil refining process
The palm oil refinery process consists of four essential steps: degumming, deacidification, decolorization, and deodorization.
Degumming is the initial stage of the refinery process, aiming to eliminate gum impurities from crude palm oil. This step can be achieved through hydration degumming or special acid degumming methods.
The deacidification process serves to both neutralize and degum the crude palm oil by introducing alkali, water, and acid. This step effectively removes free fatty acids, crude phospholipids, and moisture, while separating the oil from by-products such as soap residuals and phospholipids.
Decolorizing the crude palm oil is essential to remove pigments, residual soap, and metal ions. This process significantly enhances the oil’s color and prepares it for the subsequent deodorization step.
Deodorization is a critical phase in the palm oil refinery, aimed at eliminating solvents, odors, and water from the decolorized oil.
