Oil Seeds Flaking Mill
Oilseeds pretreatment and flaking:
Specification: 30-5000T/D
Application: soybean, rapeseed, corn germ, peanut, cottonseed, sunflower seed, castor bean, etc.
Main equipment: flaking roll.
Oil seeds flaking
Flaking roll, also called oil seeds flaking mill, is mainly composed of two or more counter-rotating rolls (high nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy). When the oil seeds (soybean, peanut, cottonseed, etc.) flow into the middle of the two rolls, they would be pressed into flakes by momentary squeezing pressure to get the crude oil. Then, through extraction and refining of crude oil, finished oil would be obtained. The flaking roll used in oilseeds pretreatment is a typical extrusion pressure equipment.
Purpose of flaking: destroy the cell tissue of oil seeds, increase the surface area, shorten the oil outflow distance, conducive to the extraction of oil, also improve the effect of steaming.
Flaking requirements: thin and uniform flakes, small fines content, no oil leakage.
Flake thickness: for different oilseeds and oil production processes, the suitable thickness of flakes is different. The flake thickness is required to be less than 0.3mm for soybeans, 0.4mm for cotton kernels, 0.35mm for rapeseed and 0.5mm for peanut kernels. The fines content of flakes should not exceed 3% under a 20 mesh/inch sieve.
Flaking method: the oilseeds are changed from granular to flaky by the external mechanical force exerted by the flaking roll.
Hydraulic oil seeds flaking mill is suitable for crushing flakes of oil seeds, make the surface area of oil seeds increase and the thickness decrease, easy to absorb moisture and heat and get the process performance that suits for steaming and pressing.
For better flaking and extraction effect and low cost of processing, the raw material must meet the requirements of flaking. Large material must be broken up into small pieces of not more than 4mm to 6mm. Reducing the size of the particles can increase the contact area of particles. Small particles need smaller horsepower and higher rotate speed. It should be broken and peeled before flaking. For cotton seeds, 10% ~ 15% of the cotton shell should be retained, and for soybean, bean hulls must be removed as much as possible, which can increase the capacity of flaking and improve the content of soybean meal protein. Soybean hulls and cotton shell can be sold as products.
After crushing, adjust the moisture content at about 9.5%-11% and the temperature in 150-160 °F (65-71°C). The best condition is that the temperature and moisture can be achieved at the same time. For cottonseed, steaming and roasting after flaking is a must, without this condition, oil extraction would be difficult.
